Time Trial (Intrasquad) on May 29 for some groups
On Tuesday, May 29 Hornet Swim Club will hold a Time Trial/Intrasquad meet at Downers Grove South for our Green/White/Bronze/Silver Groups. The purpose is to provide our new families and youngest swimmers with a chance to participate in a low-key short course swim meet. This is an integral part of our continuous effort to provide a positive experience of the sport for our swimmers and their parents. Attending the meet is highly recommended as part of the training for our swimmers. The doors open at 4:30pm, you should be there no later than 4:45pm. The swimmers will be in the water for warm-up at 5:00pm and the meet will begin around 5:20pm. We anticipate that it will be over by 7:00pm.
You need to sign up your swimmer by clicking Meet Signup (above right). Instructions on how to do this are on the resources page, if you need them. The deadline for the sign up is Sunday, May 27th at 9:00 pm. The coaching staff will determine what events your swimmer is going to participate in.
Parents of the swimmers attending the meet will be expected to help with timing and bull pen (the area where youngest swimmers are lined up in order to get them ready for the race), both to help this meet run smoothly and in order to get educated for the Invitational Swim Meets we are hosting over the year.
If you do not sign up your swimmer for the intersquad meet, there will be no swim practice offered on that day for Green, White, Bronze and Silver Group.
The Gold and Senior Groups will have practice at Hinsdale South High School from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
