Good job Hornets!!!

Congratulations to the Hornet Swim Club swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches on a very successful weekend! Our team attended the Summer State Age Group Championship Meet.

I would like to congratulate all the swimmers on new best times and new qualifying standards achieved. We had three good days in pool and we certainly did a fine job.

HOSC Swimmers also saw success in the pool! Congratulations to the following:

  • 10 and under girls 200 free relay (Cakuls, Geiersbach, Smith, Quinones) on 3rd place at the state meet
  • Boys 10 and under for 6th place in 200 free relay (Tommasone, Gallagher, E. Ozgen, Kosanovich)
  • Lainey Quinones for 8th place in 100 butterfly for girls 10 and under
  • William Bowater on 14th place in 200 breaststroke for boys 13-14 age group
  • Alexandra Knutte for 14th place in 200 freestyle in girls 13-14 age group
  • Girls 10 and under 200 medley relay for 8th place (Smith, Quinones, Cakuls, Geiersbach)
  • Boys 10 and under relay for 13th place in 200 medley (Chen, Gallagher, E. Ozgen, Tommasone)
  • 10th place in 50 fly for Lainey Quinones in 10 and under girls age group
  • 13-14 girls for 15th place in 400 medley relay (Knutte, Lienhart, Bowater, G. Rogowski)
  • Boys 11-12 for 16th place in 400 free relay (Cochlan, Duerr, Matulis, B. Ozgen)
  • Grace Rogowski for 11th place in 50 free in 13-14 girls age group
  • William Bowater for 12th place in 50 free in 13-14 boys age group

Our swimmers had 5 new senior champs state times achieved and 2 new Sectional time standards achieved. 36 individual improved times which is 68 % Life Time Best Swims! HOSC Swimmers that achieved a Life Time Best in every individual event they swum were: William Bowater, Angelina Cakuls, Cullen Cochlan, William Duerr, Cole Kosanovich, Tiffany Matulis and Grace Rogowski.

The Swimmer that came away with the biggest time drop was William Bowater who dropped total of 8.58 seconds in his 200 Breaststroke. Nice job Will!!!

Next weekend is time for our swimmer to attend Senior Champs State Championship. Good luck Hornets!!!

Awesome job Hornets!!!

Congratulations to the Hornet Swim Club swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches on a very successful weekend! It is time for fun and some very fast swimming. Our team was attending two championship meets: 1) Summer Regionals Championship and 2) Speedo Sectional meet.

Everyone across ages and groups improved. I would like to congratulate all the swimmers on new best times and new qualifying standards achieved. Just watching some of the races in last five days, reminds me that I have the best job on the world.

Now, we know where all the countless hours and energy went. Results as follows:

Congratulations to all the participants in Summer Regional Championship swim meet. We had three good days in pool and kids had a lot of fun. We certainly did fine job.  HOSC Swimmers also saw success in the pool! Our swimmers at Regionals had 7 new state times achieved and 104 individual improved times which is 71% Life Time Best Swims! HOSC Swimmers that achieved a Life Time Best in every individual event they swum were: Lilianna Bone, Caroline Bowater, Bryte Bu, Angelina Cakuls, Mathew Chen, Cullen Cochlan, William Gallagher, Xing Gao, Anna Gruchala, Cooper Lienhart, Seanessy Lyons, Hugo Martinez, Tiffany Matulis, Julia Miller, Dominik Nemrava, Erkan Ozgen, Alexa Smith, and Aneil Srivastava.  The Swimmer that came away with the biggest time drop was Tommy Matulis who dropped total of 18.18 seconds in his 500 Free. Nice job Tommy!!!

Congratulations to all the participants in Speedo Sectional Championship swim meet.
Our swimmers had 7 new team records and 100% of Life Time Best Swims! Swimmers that achieved a Life Time Best in every individual event they swum were: Daniel Ciciora, Robert Bonanno, Banistre Lienhart and Brian Portland-who had 5 Junior National’s time standards achieved. The Swimmer that came away with the biggest time drop was Daniel Ciciora who dropped total of 17 seconds in his 400 IM. Nice job Boys!!!

Next weekend is time for our swimmer to attend Age Group State Championship.

Munster Last Chance Meet

Good job Hornets!!!

Congratulations to the Hornet Swim Club swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches on a very successful Munster Swim Club – “LAST CHANCE” INVITATIONAL, JULY 13, 2012!

On first look, we can say that main goal for meet was achieved, swimmers got some fast swimming in short period of time and the team had many (103) best times, a ton of new championship qualifiers ( 13 new state cuts) and ( 7 new Regional’s cuts) and lots of fun!

Congratulations to all the participants in Munster Swim Club “LAST CHANCE” INVITATIONAL meet.

HOSC Swimmers also saw success in the pool! Our swimmers had 63% of Life Time Best Swims! HOSC Swimmers that achieved a Life Time Best in every individual event they swum were: Caroline Bowater, Meredith Callahan, Cullen Cochlan, Grace Fowler, Gao Xing, Katrina Geiersbach, James Heneghan, Andrew Henn, Kaitlyn Hopp, Lillian Kloubec, Cooper Lienhart, Julia Miller, Matas Novickis, Alexa Smith, and Blair Strausser.

The Swimmer that came away with the biggest time drop was Alexandra Knutte who dropped total of 22.98 seconds in her 400 Free. Nice job Alex!!!

Intrasquad Time Trial July 2013

Good job Hornets!!!

Congratulations to the Hornet Swim Club swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches on a very successful Intersquad meet! Main goal for meet was achieved, swimmers got some fast swimming in short period of time and the team had many (45) best times, a ton of new championship qualifiers (3 state cuts and 28 Regionals cuts) and lots of fun!

Congratulations to all the participants in Intersquad meet.  We certainly did fine job. HOSC Swimmers also saw success in the pool! Our swimmers had 60% of Life Time Best Swims! HOSC Swimmers that achieved a Life Time Best in every individual event they swum were: Bone Lilianna, Bowater Stephanie, Buzelis Sophia, Cakuls Angelina, Callahan Meredith, Cochlan Cullen, Dunford Magdalyn, Gao Xing, Geiersbach Katrina, Hopp Madison, Martinez Hugo, Ozgen Berkay, Ozgen Erkan, Quick Olivia, Shin Kedrick, Shin Kyler, Strausser Blair.

The Swimmer that came away with the biggest time drop was Xing (Harry) Gao who dropped total of 8.22 seconds in his 50 Free. Nice job Harry!!!

Brian Portland and Banistre Lienhart designated All America Swimmers by NISCA; Portland accepted on USA Swimming’s Scholastic All-America Team

Huge Congratulations to Brian Portland and Banistre Lienhart! Both have designated 2013 All-America swimmers by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association for their performance during the high school season.

Additionally, Brian Portland has been accepted onto the USA Swimming 2012-2013 Scholastic All-America Team. Through this program, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool.

Good job Hornets!!!

Congratulations to the Hornet Swim Club swimmers, parents, and assistant coaches on a very successful Munster swim meet! The team had many best times, a ton of new championship qualifiers and lots of fun! These results are related to all of the hard work swimmers put in practice during the last few weeks, as well as the focused organization of the club. The result is very successful meet over the past weekend. Everyone across ages and groups improved. I would like to thank you for your support and participation in the meet and look forward to continuing to be a part of the outstanding summer season for Hornet Swim Club. Everything went smoothly and was a great experience for the team and for myself. I was very impressed with and appreciative of how our swimmers and assistant coaches rose to the occasion, helping in so many ways on the deck, in the pool, and behind the scenes to make all this happen. HOSC has a reputation as a very competitive swim program and it is very important to keep up with hard work and good organization which will lead to even better success at meets in the future. Just watching those tight races at the meet, that is what swimming is all about.

Hornet Swim Club came away from the meet with 6th place in team competition out of 30 teams attending competition this last weekend. This meet was first meet of the summer when swimmers were specifically mentally and physically prepared to swim fast.

Congratulations to all the participants in Summer Splash Invitational swim meet. We had three good days in the pool and kids had a lot of fun. I would like to thank to all of the parents who brought their swimmers to the meet and who helped time during the meet.

We certainly did fine job. HOSC Swimmers also saw success in the pool! Our swimmers had 236 individual improved times which is 69 % Life Time Best Swims! HOSC Swimmers that achieved a Life Time Best in every individual event they swum were: Lilianna Bone, Caroline Bowater, Sophia Buzelis, Cullen Cochlan, Katrina Geiersbach, James Heneghan, Savannah Lee, Banistre Lienhart, Cooper Lienhart, Peyton Lienhart, Audrey Mahoney and Julia Miller.

The Swimmer that came away with the biggest time drop was Katrina Geiersbach who dropped total of 41.16 seconds in her 100 Fly. Nice job Katrina!!!
